Akira Roland Book Scholarship - Annually Fund

From, and about, Akira T Roland:
I was born in Corpus Christi, but raised in Beaumont. I am a single mother of a 10 year old little girl. I started working on my BAAS degree almost 8 years ago. Due to financial pressures of trying to pay for school, childcare and bills, I dropped out 4 times. So, after 7 and a half years, I am finally graduating in August. I earned my Associate’s degree of applied sciences from L.I.T. back in 2012. Therefore, my BAAS degree would have only taken an additional 2 years… life happened. I am a survivor of domestic violence, which is why I am a single mother. I realized there were not many scholarships or grants for my particular degree. Also, I want to help someone in the same boat as I am. I know that no matter what, God always provides. Getting through school is tough enough, so I want to make things a little easier for someone else. Thank you for this opportunity.
