Anthony Scott Kojak Scholarship in Music

Anthony “Tony” Kojak was born November 14, 1956 in Beaumont, Texas. Before enrolling at the University of Texas in 1976, Anthony had already completed ten years of classical piano studies with Hubert Kaszynski. He graduated with honors with a Master of Music and Composition degree and went on to perform professionally in many U.S. cities including Seattle, Houston, Austin, Beaumont, New York and Indianapolis. While in New York he worked at a pianist in off Broadway productions. In 1981 his reputation led him to perform with The Youth Symphony of New York City at Carnegie Hall. Anthony was also an accomplished composer with several compositions published nationally. This scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a degree in Music, with a concentration in Piano. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
